Stephan’s journey had reached a lot of people by the time he was transferred to Sunninghill Hospital for his first surgery. I can’t even count the amount of messages, calls and prayers that went out for our boy. People we had never met before where sending voice notes praying for him.
Then we were sent this scripture:
Psalm 73:26, “My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; he is mine forever.”
Act 7:9-10 “Because the patriarchs were jealous of Joseph, they sold him as a slave into Egypt. But God was with him (10) and rescued him from all his troubles.
Acts 2:24 GNB. But God raised him from death, setting him free from its power, because it was impossible that death should hold him prisoner.
Philippians 2:27 NIV. Indeed he was ill, and almost died. But God had mercy on him, and not on him only but also on me, to spare me sorrow upon sorrow.
Romans 5:8, NLT: “But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.”
We asked friends, family and complete strangers to pray with us:
Tomorrow dad and I will be writing the words “But God” on our hands. This short but powerful message has carried us through a lot of difficult times recently. If you would like to, as a reminder to keep little Stephan in your prayers throughout the day, please join us in doing so, even if it’s on a post it at your desk.
We may grow tired and weary, BUT GOD provides us with just enough strength for today.
Our boy may still be a tiny baby, BUT GOD has made im strong enough to endure the surgery.
We may feel anxious and fearful, BUT GOD fills us with a peace that transcends all understanding.
And boy did people come through for us.
Matthew 18:20. “For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”
